New Comic Day May 24
Ah my life is made easy again this week as I only got one comic today, namely:
Teen Titans #36
This was kind of an odd issue as I am not really familiar with the Doom Patrol, who feature prominently in this issue. I can't tell if the writing by Geoff Johns is to help readers understand a bit of backstory about them or if it's just him showing off his knowledge of the DC universe (or maybe both). There wasn't anything really exciting in this issue. We get to see Robin kind of acting more like Batman in his paranoia and we're reminded of his efforts to clone the now deceased Superboy. The artwork by Tony Daniel (check his blog by clicking the link) is a bit hit and miss this issue. Some panels are really nice looking (ie. some of the Robin close up, moody shots) and others look plain weird (something just don't look right with Wondergirl). I'm not recommending it unless you're already familiar with the Doom Patrol. As well I am a bit annoyed when I get an issue of Teen Titans that may as well be an issue of Doom Patrol guest starring the Teen Titans.

The boys boys featuring the phonies.
Are the Teen Titans comprised of a leader, a sidekick, a tough guy, a smart guy, and a quiet religious guy that ends up going crazy?
/what happened to Superboy?
The Teen Titans (pre issue #33 or so) are composed of Robin (leader), Beast Boy (sidekick), Cyborg and Wondergirl (tough guy/gal), a guy and girl I forget the names of but can put Cyborg back together (smart people), and Raven (who can kind of be considered the religious type as her father is a demon).
/Superboy died in his fight with another Superboy from Earth-Prime, which took place at the centre of the universe near a tower created by a parallel Lex Luthor out of the remains of the Anti-Monitor, whose purpose was to recreate the multiverse to find the perfect Earth where Super-heroes are light and fluffy again. No joke.
Wow! You must have changed the sidebar right after I looked at this last time. That is fantastic! I'm impressed that you thought of such a thing -- you deserve as much props for doing that as I for making them in the first place. Bravo, John. Bravo.
/the boys boys shall live forever.
